The House of Dior has been an enduring icon of haute couture. While the House of Dior is still a thriving business today, Dior's untimely death in 1957 left the fashion world without a great dictator of style. Christian Dior designed under his own name for only a decade, but his influence is everlasting. Here is a rare opportunity to own a breathtaking three-piece ensemble from Dior's last year of designing before passing away. The suit is fashioned in a gorgeous ruby-red, fully-lined wool. I love the double-breasted bodice and built-in waist belt jacket. The matching skirt is a high-waisted fitted nipped silhouette with faux-pockets. As Dior once said, "Elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity." This classic three-piece suit is a wonderful mix of these elements.

This stunning 1957 Christian Dior 5655 numbered-couture ensemble is in excellent condition with no rips, holes or fade. The inside is immaculate and hand finished. Only thing to note is the buttons have been replaced because three were missing when I acquired this garment. I will gladly include the original buttons with the suit. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value. Wonderful condition and a true rarity!
