This is a wonderful 1960s Mollie Parnis maxi dress and it is hard not to love such a strong statement piece. It is certainly one of the most dramatic dresses I have seen and yet it still has a soft and sexy element to it. It is done in a beautiful brilliant green ribbon silk whose combination of finishes within the fabric itself give it visual interest. This combined with the pretty pops of color in the pattern makes for a fantastic combination. The standout element is of course the sleeves - each is a dramatic panel of fabric flowing from the shoulder to give the dress a kimono-esque, exotic feel that is unbelievable. They are each a full 28" in length and trail down the sides. The way they move and flow when you move while wearing the dress is just incredible. The skirt flows to the ground in a column of silk acting as the perfect balance to the sleeves. I love the high neck - the full coverage through the body really just highlight those sleeves. The contrast between the colors and the beautiful cut mixed with the volume of the sleeves is incredible. Excellent condition.
The bodice and skirt are fully lined in a matching green silky rayon and the sleeves are left unlined. It closes at the back with a painted metal zipper.
